Solvent Dyes – WAXOLINE®
Last January, we launched the new WAXOLINE® website, Kadion’s registered brand of solvent dyes for colouring plastics with excellent heat resistance. These dyes provide brilliant colours in transparent polymers, particularly amorphous thermoplastics such as PS, PC, PMMA and PET.
WAXOLINE™ dyes also offer significant cost savings in plastic colouring applications. Used on their own, they produce bright colours with excellent clarity in transparent plastics. When combined with opaque plastics and titanium dioxide, they create attractive pastel shades.
They can also be used in combination with pigment colours, either as shading components or as the main ingredient in a formulation, providing combinations of colour strength and translucency that are often impossible to achieve using insoluble pigments alone.
One of the key characteristics of WAXOLINE™ dyes is that they dissolve completely in the molten polymer and remain locked within the solid plastic. Under normal conditions, they do not exhibit blooming or bleeding in the recommended polymers.
